Pastor Bobby Young, son of Albert and Bertha Young was born in Batesville, Mississippi. Grew up on a farm and picked cotton as a youth. Crop was the primary source of income. Married in 1963, accepted his call at age 30, Moved to Iowa at age 19 following family, worked construction for 18 years. He joined Mt Hebron church in Valley Junction and accepted the Pastor position at New Bethel Church in Manly Iowa, where he served for 4 – 5 years. He joined Macedonia Baptist Church under the leadership of the Late Pastor Fred Green, where he did mission work, Associate Pastor Greater Zion Church.
Religious Background
• Part of American Baptist where he took courses in leadership and missionary studies.
• Called to Evangelism & Missionary Work
• Currently President of Evangelism at the State Convention.
• Currently President Black Ministerial Alliance
Greatest Accomplishment – studying engineering. As a child he always wanted to be a bull rider and he did participate in some Rodeo’s. Interest – PRAYING, Hobbies – Fishing and Shooting
First Lady Eva Young, daughter of Elija and Gussie Lee was born in Batesville, Mississippi, married to Bobby Young in 1963, moved to Des Moines at age 19. She raised three Children, Christien Johnson, Eltgera Young and Tommi Young, Attended DMAAC where she studied Social Work. She worked with Children doing counseling, teaching child development social skills, did Foster care, and worked for the Des Moines Public school system for 19 years.

Mother Young enjoys reading Christian books, shopping, loves hats and loves being around family and friends. She always wanted to be an airline stewardess.
